with Venerable Robina Courtin
facilitated by Louise Fisher
An afternoon of exploring Buddhism as a living therapy, recognising the ways in which the Buddha—sometimes described as the first Cognitive-Behavioural Therapist—taught practical tools to heal and train the mind.
This special session will be facilitated by Louise Fisher, clinical psychologist and former AABCAP Director of Training, who will guide the discussion and Q&A. All mental health professionals, students and those curious about Buddhism as therapy are welcome to attend.
Venerable Robina Courtin is an Australian-born Buddhist nun in the Tibetan Gelug tradition. She was ordained in 1978 after meeting her principal teachers, Lama Thubten Yeshe and Lama Zopa Rinpoche, co-founders of the Foundation for the Preservation of the Mahayana Tradition (FPMT). Known worldwide for her direct, warm, and deeply practical teaching style, she has served as Editorial Director of Wisdom Publications, Editor of Mandala magazine, and founder of the Liberation Prison Project. Her work brings Buddhist ideas into everyday life with clarity and compassion.
