Your Reflective Essay Due by Sunday, 3rd of September 2023
Students are to complete a written essay at the end of the weekend of 1000 – 1500 words (+/- 10%) entitled: “Personal Reflections on Ageing, Sickness and Death” which should demonstrate an understanding of:
  • Theoretical aspects of weekend presentations and discussions.
  • The experiential exercises, meditations and discussions.
  • How this module helped me personally and with my clinical practice.
Please email this essay to the seminar leader, Patricia McLoughlin at patricia.mcloughlin53@gmail.com at and to the Director of Training, Deb Chisholm at dot@aabcap.org no later than four weeks after the weekend seminar, by Sunday 3rd of September 2023.

 

ASSESSMENT CRITERIA
Contributions during seminar and group discussions and written essay demonstrating:
  • An understanding of the Buddhist view of the nature of death and impermanence.
  • Consideration of how this may be utilised in clinical practice.
  • Genuine reflections on one’s own relationship to ageing and death and the implications for clinical practice and one’s life.
Grading: Level of competency: Competent / Not-Yet-Competent
